A large part of the mission of a campus bookstore is to provide students with the course materials they need, in the format that works best for them, at the most affordable price. But, as a valued partner to the school and its students, it is important to understand that providing affordable course materials is about much more than price alone. It’s about providing students with – and making sure they’re aware of – the tools, resources and support they need to be successful, such as peer-to-peer learning options and tutoring support.

Attend this web seminar to take part in an interactive discussion with Lisa Malat, VP, Operations and Chief Marketing Officer at Barnes & Noble College, and Mike Matousek, CEO/Founder of Flashnotes, who will debunk common myths about affordability and the campus bookstore, and share best practices for enhancing student success and keeping revenue on campus.

Topics will include:
  • What “affordability” means in today’s competitive landscape when it comes to course materials, and how the campus store can differentiate itself on more than price alone
  • How providing students with the right tools, resources and support can enhance student success, and why educating students and faculty about these options is vital to making the bookstore their first choice for course materials
  • Examples of partnership programs (such as BNC’s partnership with Flashnotes) that can help students learn in ways they want to learn: peer-to-peer (i.e. peer tutoring services, peer-created supplemental materials, etc.)
