College game days are a huge opportunity to demonstrate your campus’s commitment to sustainability. But the sheer number of fans and students in the stands — and the volume of waste they generate — can make greening game days a challenge.
Attend this web seminar to learn how the administration at the University of Arizona implemented an innovative "Greening Game Day" program during the 2012 football season. Through strategic recycling tactics, campus wide communications and student engagement, the university diverted over 25 tons of waste from the landfill. An expert from Waste Management will offer insights into assessing and identifying opportunities for waste diversion, creating student engagement programs and measuring success.
Topics will include:
-
The advantages of creating sustainable game days and other events on campus
-
Conducting assessments and identifying diversion opportunities
-
Student and fan engagement programs
-
Measuring and reporting success
