Dear [FIRSTNAME],
This week I was thrilled to learn that two of the most popular open source content management systems, Drupal and Wordpress, would have a presence at UBTech 2014. Each application will be showcased in a Special Interest Group (SIG). These ½ day "pre-cons" happen on Monday, June 16th, just prior to the grand opening of UBTech.
As CIO of our company, I have developed websites in both Drupal and Wordpress (the UBTech site was developed in Drupal) and I am an advocate of both for use in higher-ed. While an open source CMS provides an agile development framework, there are still many challenges in an enterprise implementation and contrary to popular belief, open source does not mean "free."
We invite you to learn more about our Drupal and Wordpress SIGs and I also invite you to join me at UBTech 2014 to take part in 2.5 days of tech learning. I have noted several additional sessions that I believe will be of interest to you:

Drupal and Wordpress SIGs

Sessions of interest to Web Professionals
How to Survive a Breakup with your LMS
HawkLearn: A Small College Reaches for the Clouds (developing a cloud based open learning network)
Video Captioning Requirements, Best Practices, and Emerging Standards
Protecting Against Cyber-Threats That Matter to Education
And many more. View the full program.
What could be better than collaborating on the implementation of Drupal and Wordpress with your peers, an exhibit hall featuring cutting edge higher ed tech products, great food and the Mirage, Las Vegas? This package cannot be beat.
Early bird registration is only available for a few more weeks. Please join me for this great event.
And if you want to see a bit of UBTech history, in 2011 Dries Buytaert, founder of Drupal, delivered a keynote for us. Watch it here: ubtechconference.com
See you in Vegas!
