USA Funds Borrower ConnectTM is a Web-based tool that automates borrower communication through telephone, letter and email campaigns to help improve cohort default rates.
More than 125 schools use the tool as part of their default prevention efforts. Monroe College, an independent proprietary college of about 7,000 students in New York, includes USA Funds Borrower Connect as part of its default prevention initiatives. The school has made significant progress in contacting delinquent borrowers and getting them back on a successful repayment track — and the tool has greatly improved the efficiency of the default prevention staff.
“USA Funds Borrower Connect makes the whole process easier by saving us tons of manpower each month and letting our staff be more effective in reaching students who need the most help,” says Clemente P. La Pietra, director of the Office of Loan Management for Monroe College.
“Before USA Funds Borrower Connect, our efforts to prevent defaults meant our staff had to gather — by hand — delinquency lists from every loan servicer. Now, instead of my staff going over seven or eight delinquency lists with 300 to 400 borrowers on each list and then putting that information into a database, USA Funds Borrower Connect does the work for us.” |
