More and more educators have discovered that Sony’s 3LCD projectors are uniquely qualified to make their lives easy. High picture quality, low total cost of ownership, and simple installation are just a few of the reasons.
The VPL–FH36/FH31 projectors deliver outstanding brightness of 5,200 lumens (FH36) and 4,300 lumens (FH31). They have WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution, and are capable of projecting both native HD video content and WUXGA computer content. The projectors are designed for low total cost of ownership, including long lasting lamp and low power consumption.
The Sony VPL–FH500L is a versatile installation projector delivering 7,000 lumens of brightness with WUXGA resolution. A twin lamp system provides an automatic back up should the primary lamp fail. Each lamp outputs bright 7,000 lumens, and achieves combined recommended lamp replacement time of up to 8,000 hours.

Sony projectors introduced : VPL-FH500L, VPL-FH30
Q : How are the projectors contributing to improving students’ learning experience?
A : When the University of Minnesota created the Office of Classroom Management back
in 1999, we were tasked with developing a standard design of their “Projection Capable
Classroom”, a design that needed the ability to be scaled across the Twin Cities campus.
Sony projectors were chosen then based on cost but primarily on their superior video
image quality. The number of classrooms has grown from 29 in 1999 to 312 classrooms
today all of which utilize Sony projectors. The WUXGA resolution and brightness of the
VPL–FH30 has been a leap forward as we are transitioning to digital video signals in
classroom presentation technology. |

Q : How are the projectors contributing to your school’s AV management?
A : Our classroom projectors are monitored by the rooms’ control system which reports errors back to our department. The Sony projector provides status on a number of parameters that, when there is an issue, can be dealt with proactively by our staff. This helps in contributing to reduced down time in the classroom. The approximately 70% increase in lamp life of the VPL–FH30 also has a significant role in assisting in managing classroom maintenance costs and budgeting for the future. |
