Are you in compliance?

If you're offering electronic refunds, or want to, you need to know about compliance requirements. If you can't confidently answer "Yes" to all of these questions, you will want to turn to Higher One for help.

Are you in compliance with the Electronic Funds Transfer Act?

Do you comply with U.S. law in regard to origination of ACH entries?

Has each ACH been authorized by the student whose account will be credited?

Do you retain a record of each authorization record for a period of not less
than 2 years?

Does your e-refund vendor provide an annual compliance exam to the Department of Education on your behalf?

If you offer direct deposit to a stored value card, is the account FDIC-insured? Do you have each student's consent for terms and conditions? Can the card be widely used? Is it clear the card is not a credit instrument?

Intimidated? Don't be. Higher One worries about compliance so you don't have to.
