It's official:

Google Apps leads in hosted university email

Google Apps Education Edition brings Google's hosted email and web applications to your campus.  It's also free—with no advertising to students, faculty, or staff.

Thousands of schools have already made the easy switch to Google Apps to get the advanced technology today's students need, without the cost and frustration of managing hardware and software.  So it's no surprise that this year's Campus Computing survey found that among 4-year universities and colleges using outsourced email, 59% chose Google as their provider.

Read what higher-ed CIOs and IT directors are saying:

"We couldn't find a compelling reason why Wesleyan shouldn't let people who were doing email well for millions do it for us, too."
- Karen Warren, Director of User and Technical Services, Wesleyan University

"Our students approached us about a year ago, saying that we needed to improve our email and collaboration services. We actually had our student government tell us, 'we want you to implement Google Apps.' "
- Wendy Woodward, Director of Technology Support Services, Northwestern University

"From a strategic IT perspective, it just doesn't make sense to spend time and resources to provide and maintain a service when Google can do it better and cheaper."
- Matt Lawson, Director of Enterprise Services, Virginia's Community Colleges
